The Smart Kit is
a dedicated In-Circuit Emulator (ICE) for
Samsung SAM4(S3C7xxx series, old name:KS57
series), SAM8(S3C8/9xxx series, old
name:KS86/88 series) families of
micro-controllers and
supports IAR C-compiler.
The debugging system consists of Smart Kit
(Emulator) which can be installed with
different device-specific personality board;
Target Board, and Probe adapters. Smart Kit
is designed to operate on PC-compatible
system ranging from 486 and greater. The
debugger software, Smart Studio, runs under
Microsoft Window 95/98/ 2000/XP enviro nment,
providing a user-friendly operating
environment with an easy-to-use toolbar, fun
ction/hot key and full context-sensitive
help, allowing the user access to a wide
range of supporting software accessories
including fully compatible with Samsung SAMA
and SASM universal assembler. |

[ Software
Features (Smart Studio) ]
- The
Windows 95/98/2000/XP debugger software,
Smart Studio, is an integrated
development environment (IDE) which
allows you to edit and compile your
codes directly. User also get the
additional benefits of the Windows
operating system for visualizing data:
multiple source windows; tool bar with
icons that shows the function of
different buttons; context menu for
customizing font, as well as accessing
special functions to the active window;
window minimization and maximization to
optimize workspace.

Customize debugging environment and save
it to disk as Setup or Project.frm file.
This enables you to quickly resume the
debugging session exactly the way you
left it. This file saves information on
RS232 com interface, device
configuration, object file, window
layout, breakpoint count and watch
variables.
- Watch
variables can be set up to effectively
study the results of interested
registers. Watch variables can also be
edited directly within the window for
program analysis.
- Source
level debugging support on Samsung
universal assembler SASM.

These are
device-specific personality boards that
connected to the Smart Kit in-circuit
emulator for emulating different device
groups. The target board is an
interchangeable printed circuit board (PCB)
that includes the evaluation and bond-out
chip, the power selection jumper, and cable
connectors. It must be needed for a specific
debugging system configuration. All required
target system cables and DIP-type probe
adapters( only up to 64 pin-count devices)
are included with the device-specific target
board.
( Target boards are supported without charge
by Samsung and Samsung sales agent )
